ILVA

EIGUS

Ilva Eigus, born in Switzerland in 2007, is an exceptional talent. She received her first violin lessons at the age of three from Liana Tretiakova, who subsequently taught Ilva for 12 years in Zurich. She received significant musical support from Zakhar Bron, Priya Mitchell and Ingolf Turban, among others. Her current mentor is Marc Bouchkov, with whom Ilva is studying as a junior student at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège in Belgium.

She made her debut with orchestra at the age of eight and has since performed with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the Musikkollegium Winterthur, the Moscow Philharmonic, the Novosibirsk Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic Prague and the SWD Philharmonie Konstanz, among others. In 2023, at the age of fifteen, Ilva made her debut at the Tonhalle Zurich with Mendelssohn's E minor Violin Concerto and at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, and participated as a “Junior Soloist” at the prestigious Verbier Festival Summer Academy.

Ilva is a multiple first prize winner of the Swiss Youth Music Competition and has won numerous prizes at international competitions, most recently first prize at the Arthur Grumiaux International Competition 2024 in Brussels.

In 2023, Ilva became an ambassador for the Fondation ART-THERAPIE, which aims to promote art therapy programs for young people in Switzerland.

Ilva plays an Omobono Stradivarius from 1707, a generous loan from the Stradivari Foundation Habisreutinger-Huggler-Coray.
